Silly Old Bear: 100 Years of Winnie-the-Pooh is a concert of music and words presented by Music Box Wealden at Michael Hall School in Forest Row on Saturday 14 November 2026. It celebrates the centenary of A. A. Milne’s much-loved stories and poems through readings and songs in the Long Room at Kidbrooke Park.
Stories and songs inspired by Winnie-the-Pooh
Soprano Chiara Vinci, actor Ben Watson and pianist William Hancox bring together readings, art songs and settings of Milne’s verses. The programme also includes music by composer Harold Fraser-Simson, a friend and neighbour of Milne. The setting at Michael Hall School provides a close connection with Ashdown Forest, the landscape behind many of the stories.
