Tulleys Farm is no ordinary patch of countryside – it’s the farming lovechild of one Bernard Beare, a man who, after roaming East from Devon like a wandering agricultural knight, finally planted himself in Sussex in 1937. What started as a run-of-the-mill dairy farm became a culinary playground, sprouting salad crops and pickling veggies and herbs for London’s most discerning taste buds.
Then came Denis, Bernard’s son, who had the genius idea to let people pick their own crops. It was the 1970s – flares were in, and so was picking your own produce. Denis and his wife Marion turned Tulleys into the go-to destination for anyone wanting to harvest their own five-a-day. Fast forward to 1991, enter Stuart Beare – not your average farmer, but one who thinks, “Why just farm when you can also terrify people senseless?”
Stuart’s brainchild, the legendary Shocktober Fest Scream Park, was born, and things only got crazier from there – with pumpkins, mazes, sunflowers, tulips, and escape rooms so intense you might lose your mind (but don’t worry, you’ll get it back… we think). From spooks to blooms, Tulleys is a year-round adventure waiting to make your Instagram followers jealous. Whether you’re picking pumpkins or plotting your escape, Stuart and the team are here to make sure your day is filled with laughter, fun, and a healthy dose of screaming.
Enjoy the ride!
