We’ll have parades of four and five-in-hand coaches and carriages and Shires and Heavy Horses, and we’ll be putting the hard work of Britain’s livestock farmers and smallholders in the spotlight; with well over 1,000 cows, sheep, pigs and goats – it’s a chance to get up close to see how they’re preened and polished to perfection for their big moment in the main ring.
Celebrate the country way of life in our Country Sports zone and take part in fly fishing tutorials. You can also meet the hounds with footpacks and fox hounds before their cavalcade and learn about falconry from the experts before testing your skills on the have-a-go archery.
If pooches are your passion, then the dog agility section will be running competitions and demonstrations, along with the terrier racing on Monday – an absolute must-see event – so enter your short or long-legged terrier for a chance of glory!
You can balance out the fast pace of our cracking arena displays with a gentle wander through our vintage sections, with exhibitors’ cars dating back to 1907 with everything from the sporty to the majestic, including vintage tractors and historic farm machinery too.
And don’t forget to take a look at the creative displays of prize-winning potatoes, trophy-winning tomatoes and first-class flowers in our Horticulture tent, it’s the place to go for vibrant colours and scents, and with our new House Plant competition, it’s easier than ever to enter the fruits of your own labour in one of our competitions!
