Join local botanist and friend of the farm Brad Scott for this farm walk exploring a range of different habitats around Tablehurst followed by a two-course lunch from our farm kitchen.
Brad will guide you around the fields and hedgerows of Tablehurst and illustrate the variety of wild plants that are a vital part of the farm’s ecology. In an age of industrial agriculture, farms such as Tablehurst are great sites of biological diversity and have a noticeably richer array of species than adjacent land. You will be introduced to many common species of plants as well as plants that are now under threat. The route will take in the meadow at Pixton where the wildflowers will be at their peak at this time of year. The walk will be of interest to anyone wanting to learn some basic botany and gain some insights into the local landscape.
The organic lunch will be prepared by our farm kitchen manager, Nadine Otway, and will be based primarily on fresh, seasonal produce grown here at Tablehurst. A vegetarian option will be available. Let us know if you have any allergies before booking in case we are not able to cater for them.
